Ravensburger Disney Lorcana TCG: Winterspell Booster Pack Display - 24 Packs with 12 Trading Cards Each - 288 Cards Tota — for gift shoppers

What it is

This is a box containing 24 packs of Disney-themed trading cards, with each pack holding 12 cards for a total of 288 pieces of cardboard featuring cartoon characters. Ravensburger makes it, which is a German company that's been around since 1883, so at least they know how to make things that don't fall apart immediately. It's part of something called a 'trading card game,' which apparently involves strategy and collecting, though I fail to see why grown adults need Mickey Mouse to teach them how to think.

Perfect gift for...

This would suit a child who enjoys Disney movies and has the attention span to learn card games, or an adult who never quite grew out of either. It's also appropriate for people who like opening small packages repeatedly, which I'm told releases chemicals in the brain that make you feel happy. Avoid giving this to anyone who values practical gifts that serve a clear purpose in daily life.

Is it worth it?

Without knowing the price, I can only say that 288 cards better cost less than what I'd pay for 288 of anything actually useful, like screws or washers. The cards appear to be well-made based on Ravensburger's reputation, but ultimately you're paying for pictures of animated characters printed on cardstock. If it brings someone joy and doesn't bankrupt you, then I suppose worse money has been spent on more ridiculous things.
